Rieke Interiors

A proudly women-owned business, Rieke Interiors is an interior design firm and furniture manufacturer in Elgin, IL that specializes in commercial projects. Their goal is for you to attract top talent, increase efficiency, build your brand, and inspire inspiration in the workplace. They want you to love every inch of your space.

  • Website development for Rieke Interiors began with a deep dive into their brand’s identity: interviews with leadership, market research about their ideal audience, assessing their brand archetypal mix, and composing their custom Brand Script.

All that was then applied to their new website design, beginning with copywriting, followed by web design, image sourcing, and custom CSS plug-ins.

Their homepage was optimized for sales and forms were set up to capture leads.

Before launch, we completed our pre-publication checklist, including thorough organic search engine optimization, and following launch, we preformed our User Experience checklist and made sure every button and link directed to the correct location. We were also able to connect their new website with their existing CRM, allowing for seamless lead captures and email list building.

The result was a beautiful, high-performing website that reflected their brand’s personality, supported their sales team, and was designed to attract their ideal client.

Painless Tax

Painless Tax is on a mission to make tax season almost fun: They’re your hub for tax preparation and strategy, with a clear pricing menu and an easy-to-use secure filing system, so you can pay less in tax (and spend more on the fun stuff).

  • Painless Tax CEO Mark Huber came to us with an idea: What if you could have your taxes filed at a fair price, from anywhere in the country?

We sat down with Mark (virtually) to figure out the nitty gritty: Who do you imagine to be your ideal client? What do they want, and how are you helping them? What value will Painless Tax bring to their lives, and what failure will you help them avoid?

Using that information, we created the Painless Tax Brand: Luxurious. Smart. Ruler Archetype.

While our communications team wrote copywriting for the homepage, our design crew worked with Mark to create a logo for the new brand, which informed the web design and image choices for the new site.

To publish the site, our team researched available domain names, purchased the final selection, optimized the site for organic searches (SEO), and voila: From an idea to a reality. Painless.

The final site is clear and clean: Anyone landing on the home page will know exactly how much it’ll cost to hire Painless Tax, and exactly why it’s worth it.

Signs By Tomorrow

Jon (almost) has signs in his blood: He took over the Elgin location of Signs by Tomorrow from his dad well over a decade ago. Together with his wife Elizabeth, Jon added the Chicago location to the Elgin Signs family in 2022. Acquiring the new shop inspired the creation of two new websites, one for each location.

  • Signs by Tomorrow had been one of our retainer clients for many years, so the ColorWord crew was already well familiar with their brand. Because of that, we were able to jump right into copywriting, laying out the homepage so customers could immediately see why they should work with SBT: Custom, quality signage that will get your business seen (and increase your bottom line).

On the other hand, the design of this was less straightforward. We asked Jon to tell us a bit about the colors and fonts he’d like to see on his new site, as well as how he’d like customers to feel when they land on the SBT page.

This project was also unique in that we created two sites simultaneously. Most of the copy could be used in both places, but we curated photos and colors to reflect the individual brands—Chicago photos in Chicago, beloved Elgin haunts in Elgin.

Both sites increased searchability for each location, and allowed customers to easily get a quote, without having to call the store.
